Be Thou My Vision, New Year's Jar
So far, I have several little strips of paper folded up and placed in it for the first 11 days of the year. I really desire to keep this up. I feel that it will create a positive vision of each day, and the entire year. Two years ago I focused on the word joy and last year the word gratitude, and this actually encompasses them both. I have written down things that made me smile, blessings that happened, and things that others said or did that brightened my day. I have always strived to look for the good in every situation, but like anyone, I am not perfect at it, and I think this will help me do that more.
I am actually really excited to look back and see the blessings that I chose to count. Those things that I decided to remember and to share that with my husband and children that live at home. If they want to anyway. Who knows, I might enjoy it on my own, but so far, all of them have been very interested in my jar and have taken little slips of paper out to read something I felt was good in my life. It was really neat because what they pulled out mentioned them. I don't think that is an accident. Each person got to see something within the first 11 days of this year that I felt was good in my life because of them or with them.
As I was writing this, I heard the following song and I love it. I hope you enjoy it.
